DA DA DA Star Wars

My family is obsessed with Star Wars. Even me, I was Princess Leia for Halloween (a lot) and not that long ago. If I ever had twins I am afraid that I would have to name them Luke and Leia. And yes I would do side buns on her head. Which would be the sole reason if I ever had a girl I would ever grow here hair out. I am a little sick of it. Whenever I see it on I want to poke my eyes out a little bit. I can't admit this to my family, they would think of me as a traitor. Ari would cry (he did once when Cory told him she didn't like it, it was a lie by the way).

At two Nico favorite song is Star Wars (which is a melody of all songs sung to a variety of words usually, Mom Papa Mom Papa) he sing it in his sleep, during any hymn at church, it is a pretty consistent thing actually. Everything is a light saber, and he will challenge anyone to a duel, Ari he doesn't challenge, he just goes for it. I have had to confiscate many versions of light sabers, a pretzel, a stick that he tore off the flag from on the forth, and every utensil. He makes light saber noises, uses the force with his hand, and will fall if he has been hit. He has stolen Ari Bobo Fett cod piece which goes awesome with a diaper.

Ari has now moved on, he was once like Nico, but now he nows all of the characters. He wanted to be Bobba Fett for Halloween, and John created this costume. Complete with a cod piece and a jet pack. Because that is how crazy John is about star wars. (He won't tell me how much it ended up costing.) It took days of John molding plastic, painting and scuffing in armor in the right places. Now John wants to make Nico a Storm trooper, I just hope that he is still in diapers by then, because there is nothing as cool as a storm trooper in a diaper.

now you know that my kids will soon be giving your kids a run for their money - they think of boba fett as their best friend, thanks to ari. but we totally don't let them watch the movies that often because we're still big fans and want to stay that way.

i'm working on x-wing pilot costumes for the boys for halloween, with tessa being leia. she wanted to be Ewok Village Leia, but decided that white dress leia would be more recognizable. my mom's making her that knit leia wig/hat. too cool.

do ari and nico wanna be pilots, too? cuz i've got plans. which may also have fleece helmet-hats, but that might well be overextending myself.

ps - forgot to add that john is a rock star for making ari's costume - it was amazing.
and my kids only like to sing the darth vadar theme - dylan puts the word 'no' to it when he wants to tick off liam.

and i'm digging your blog. way fun.

i added the part about john making the costume, i seem to poop out at the end of blogging. I think a pilotr would be awesome, some times I wish i could take away free choice. But I will try and hide the idea in aris subconscious. John wants tom make nico into a storm trooper, and i can't resist a two year old in a cod piece.

I'm enjoying looking around your blog, thanks for the comment on mine. Yes, I agree that "Ari" is a terrific name! I sort of missed the star wars thing (no TV in my house growing up!) but my husband was a fan and has a pristine set of figurines that he guards with his life!
