DA DA DA Star Wars

My family is obsessed with Star Wars. Even me, I was Princess Leia for Halloween (a lot) and not that long ago. If I ever had twins I am afraid that I would have to name them Luke and Leia. And yes I would do side buns on her head. Which would be the sole reason if I ever had a girl I would ever grow here hair out. I am a little sick of it. Whenever I see it on I want to poke my eyes out a little bit. I can't admit this to my family, they would think of me as a traitor. Ari would cry (he did once when Cory told him she didn't like it, it was a lie by the way).

At two Nico favorite song is Star Wars (which is a melody of all songs sung to a variety of words usually, Mom Papa Mom Papa) he sing it in his sleep, during any hymn at church, it is a pretty consistent thing actually. Everything is a light saber, and he will challenge anyone to a duel, Ari he doesn't challenge, he just goes for it. I have had to confiscate many versions of light sabers, a pretzel, a stick that he tore off the flag from on the forth, and every utensil. He makes light saber noises, uses the force with his hand, and will fall if he has been hit. He has stolen Ari Bobo Fett cod piece which goes awesome with a diaper.

Ari has now moved on, he was once like Nico, but now he nows all of the characters. He wanted to be Bobba Fett for Halloween, and John created this costume. Complete with a cod piece and a jet pack. Because that is how crazy John is about star wars. (He won't tell me how much it ended up costing.) It took days of John molding plastic, painting and scuffing in armor in the right places. Now John wants to make Nico a Storm trooper, I just hope that he is still in diapers by then, because there is nothing as cool as a storm trooper in a diaper.

rocky mountian highs

Things I have learned

1- If Andi ever calls you to go on a road trip, go. Don't think about the fact that there will be four children under four who are resistant to the effects of benadryl. Because it will be fun.

2-If you are ever in the situation of peeing by the side of Andi's van at two in the morning it the parking lot of a Wendy's smelling the stench of skunk she had just hit, don't worry she will not drive off.

3- Releasing children from a car after a four hour car into a grocery store is a very loud and frighting thing. And it takes more then two mothers to control them.

4- Four year olds are not afraid to try to ride a moose.

5- Beautiful things are not always what they seem.

6- Sleep is always better in your own bed.

What I am doing now.

i have cut back on my hours at work to one full day and one part day a week. i want more time for my children for john and for myself.

i am going to make a website and try to get some photography work. i love to take photos of children and weddings, so that is what i am going to focus on. Andi once told me that i just need to just sell myself. so that is what i am going to try to do. i am going to work on my art, and my crafts and see if i can support my creative habits. i have been so excited that i haven’t been able so sleep. staying up at night thinking about all of the things i am going to be able to accomplish in my spare time. because of not sleeping i spend most of the day laying on the couch and wishing i could get some rest. i hope this will stop soon and that i can put my new found excitement to work.

ikea and julie buck, are now both in utah (at least julie is here until friday). i feel like i am living in a dream.

This post was originally made in june, right before 'the flood' so the website is still in the works.

dirty kids, dirty house/ June 6 2007

This is from a prevous blog no one ever saw, because know one knew.

I have resorted to washing my children in the sink. The basement has flooded and the other bathroom is under construction. We will be able to bathe upstairs as of today. I was afraid that I was going to relive my teenage years (actually my whole child hood until I was 24) of living in the mist of a remodel. I should have cleaned out the sink before throwing Nico in. But I was watching my Emily Shakes kids also. Four boys does not leave much time for cleaning. I was just happy to get a kid clean.

under pressure

i am feeling some pressure to start this blog. how can i be a good friend or family member if my friends and family can not occasionally peek into my life. i have a little bit of phobia of email and instant communication, i don't like the telephone, i think i just don't like to talk very much. or type for that matter, and reading through this i can see why, i sound kind of dumb. oh well.

i came home from work and ari dressed himself. nicos black pants and and his black zapatisa t-shirt, were awesome. i told him he look like a rock star. he asked why, and i explained that rock stars wore black to look cool. he informed me that he just wore black because he liked it. at least he doesn't wear 'black on the outside, because that is how he feels on the inside'. my goal in life is to keep him from that.
nico is pretty cute to. even when he drinks his "chocolate milk shake" but not so much when he dumps it all over the floor and then paints with it.
